the launch party for the new SongCircle (formerly New York Songwriters Circle) last night was amazing … the band and I played for a beautiful audience on the rooftop of EMI in manhattan. you can check out some pictures on facebook taken by the talented robbie michaels.

I recently did an interview for NBC LXTV (video), as part of the New York Songwriters Circle and that piece is now on Taxi TV in nyc. anyway, I played rockwood last night, and I had a good number of unrelated people come up and tell me they saw me on their cab ride. I had no idea it would be so pervasive, this is wild.

too bad I ride the subway.

the show at friday night in nyc was amazing, thanks to the canal room for being a beautiful venue, cosmo, nysc & q104.3′s jonathan clarke for being beautiful hosts, and alexa wilkinson and bess rogers for playing beautiful sets.

Cosmopolitan Magazine and the New York Songwriters Circle are celebrating my contest wins with me & the band at our Canal Room show this friday night. Q104.3FM’s Jonathan Clarke is hosting the show, and Bess Rogers & co-StarLaunch-ee Alexa Wilkinson will also be there. this show is going to be amazing. I really hope you can make it out.

yay my song All The Same Mistakes won the grand prize in the New York Songwriters Circle 2008 songwriting contest. brian, andrew, and I played the semi-finals wednesday night, and then I played solo thursday night in the finals. I’m honored to be recognized by nysc and excited to be more involved with them. I got money, studio time, stage time, and radio time; I am psyched. hopefully they’ll post audio or video, and I’ll make sure to post that here.

just found out my song “all the same mistakes” made it to the finals of the new york songwriters circle songwriting contest – top 12 out of thousands of entries. woo

the finals will take place live at the bitter end in nyc on nov 5 & 6 – you’ll get to hear a stripped down acoustic version of that song.
